PROJECT UPDATE: The Queensbury Industrial Park

EDC is in the process of developing a 56-acre, light industrial park, located on the east side of Queensbury Avenue, near the airport in the Town of Queensbury. "Working in concert with our project partners (Warren County and the Town of Queensbury), we've moving this project forward," said John Wheatley, EDC specialist and project coordinator. "We are awaiting approval on our application to become a Shovel-Ready site with Empire State Development and we have a signed purchase contract with the New York Army National Guard, which will build a $9.7 million Readiness Center on 14 acres in the northeast corner of the site."

Now that project planning, engineering, and permitting have been completed, the next step is constructing an 1,800-foot public roadway and extending local utilities to get services to the individual lots. "We need to extend the water and sewer infrastructure, and bring in electricity, gas, and broadband telecommunications," said Wheatley. "We also need to address storm water conveyance and treatment systems on site. Ultimately, we'll have a state-of-the-art park that will provide viable sites for technology-based industries to expand into within Warren County."
