Glen Street Associates
Positioned on the top of the hill, across from Civic Center Plaza, Glen Street Associates enjoys a commanding view of downtown Glens Falls from their third-floor headquarters at 100 Glen St. The building is a showcase example of the revitalization of commercial property in downtown. In less than a year and a half - after completely gutting the interior - the property is fully leased to a nicely mixed group of retail and office tenants, including Trustco Bank, Quiznos, Chazen Engineering, and the New York State Office of Mental Retardation among others.
While the bang and clank of heavy equipment and jackhammers floats up to their spacious office, neither Peter Hoffman nor his wife and business partner, Suzanne, see any downside to conducting business right in the midst of the downtown construction. Continue to full story

Two bookstores opening downtown within about a month of each other demonstrates Glens Fall's retail strength despite the ongoing infrastructure construction. Red Fox Books on Ridge Street opened in October and Dog Ate My Homework opened in September. Both demonstrate the value of rehabilitating and revitalizing an existing structure to create attractive space for enterprises that contribute to the economic development of the area. The River and the Rail Line Pull in Tourists
Just as the Hudson River weaves its way from community to hamlet throughout Warren County, so does the rail line. Together, they form two strands of a conduit that brought tourists in and goods out of the Adirondacks since the 1870s. The US Department of Commerce paid a visit to the Ames Electro Materials Plant on Pruyn's Island Drive to present Ames Goldsmith President Ronald Davies with an Export Achievement Certificate, which recognizes businesses for opening new foreign markets.
