AngioDynamics Expands in Catheter Valley
It's been nothing but an unending stream of good news for the local medical device manufacturer, which is an Empire Zone Certified Enterprise. It ranked 92 on BusinessWeek's list of the Top 100 Hot Growth Companies for 2006; and ranked 11 on Forbes list of the 200 Best Small Companies in October. In addition, the firm posted a better-than-expected first quarter, reporting sales of $20.3 million. Not enough good news? It also announced it will purchase California-based Oncobionic, Inc., which is working on a revolutionary cancer treatment.

Locally, the company's announcement to expand its Queensbury Avenue site was just the icing on the cake. The expansion project will consist of a 36,000 square foot Warehouse and Distribution Center, which will accommodate the firm's increasing number of employees and provide the foundation for future growth of the organization. The expansion is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2007. "This facility expansion project will provide us with the space we need to continue developing products to treat peripheral vascular disease, which are market leaders in innovation, quality, and reliability," said President and Chief Executive Officer Eamonn Hobbs, speaking at a press event held in September to mark the announcement.
